Well-known Instagramer Trashhand now has three different courses on Skillshare and I took two of these for a spin. The first one was specifically focused on shooting new lookbooks, an interesting assignment that I think can actually help you grow much as photographer on account of the variety of images which may be made working on that kind of endeavor.
All of Trashhand's teaching in this course is topnotch; from homework, to choosing wardrobes and locations, to editing. However, what I actually removed from this course has been that the importance of paying attention to details, not only in your photographs but in your homework. During the bit on choosing the wardrobe to the take, Trashhand points out things that might appear obvious, but that I imagine many people haven't realized until after we are editing a shoot. Things like, steam the clothing to remove wrinkles, use a lint brush first so that you do not need to clone things out afterwards. Small details that may get big irritations if you don't bother to pay attention in the get-go.
The next Trashhand course I saw was equally informative. It actually was quite like getting to walk round town with the photographer because he created images, and listen to him speak about his style and approach after documenting a city. I found this to be a very informative course, in one hour and a half it had been one of the greatest courses I shot and every minute was worth it. Trashhand basically deconstructed his own job by first showing and talking about a few series of prior images, then going out and filming because he shoots a completely different series, then a final bit where he walks you through his editing. This course was the entire package and definitely inspired me to get outside and spend some time in downtown Houston to find out what type of images I could create.
Justin does a really killer fashion work, therefore I was very intrigued to find out what type of setups he favored when just employing one strobe. While I believed that each one of the courses I took had lots to offer to both seasoned photographers and also to people simply picking up their first cameras, then this course in particular had some terrific courses to shooters who wish to find out more about a few of those classic lighting approaches and how to achieve them with a simple installation. Justin also spends a section of this course talking about incorporating very good lighting techniques into your iPhone photography, and also how simple it is to use reflectors or hints to control and shape natural light to get mobile portraits.
Terrific user interface which makes it effortless to find new courses and give them a go.

What Can Be Improved:
Some courses seem to be outdated in terms of instructions they supply or software they instruct on, which will sometimes get mentioned in a few of the student remarks. But, Skillshare's continuously growing teacher community makes sure that there is a steady flow of new courses being generated and shared with pupils all of the time.
There does appear to be a good variety of "low end" courses in the Premium offerings also, which is likely due to the fact that Skillshare empowers anyone to teach. On one hand their open-submission community generates many more amazing classes that would not exist if the system was shut, but on the other hand a few less than stellar courses might slip through. I think that the enormous catalogue of quality courses over outweighs the pick low-end ones, nevertheless, and makes a platform for individuals to practice and improve as instructors just because they practice and improve as pupils.
Their emphasis on real-world courses and accessibility to instructors through remarks and student jobs is a welcome shift from the frustrating and unengaging lecture-style of teaching which appears to permeate YouTube and other training sites.
